First Week Activities

Look at some of the activities we did during the first week of school. Here we are learning about rules. In our "Whoooo's Following the Rules" booklet, students look at a picture and decide if the picture shows a scenario that is following the rules or is not following the rules. This activity helps students to recognize the rules of the classroom and of the school.

 The pictures above and below show the activity we worked on after we read the book, The Kissing Hand. In the book, the little raccoon's mother gives him a kiss in the palm of his hand so he will not miss her on his first day of school. In our activity, we traced the outline of our hands and counted to see how many kisses (Hersey Kisses) would fit in our hand. When we were finished, we were able to eat our special treat!
