Retelling
One of our standards in first grade is learning how to retell a story. For this activity, students retold the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Students practiced with a partner, by themselves, and for the teacher. Some students were able to share their retelling over the projector screen to the whole class. We had fun listening to each other retell the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Field Trip
This year we were lucky enough to go to both the High Museum of Art and Zoo Atlanta. The students had lots of fun learning about our standard of animals basic needs. Thanks to all the parents who were able to chaperone.

Robot Home Project
Check out all the awesome, fun robots that came to school today! All robots were made from recyclable pieces. I'm sure the students had lots of fun creating their projects at home. It was a joy to listen to the students share them!

Book Buddy Food Craft
Today we met with our book buddies and read the book, Snowmen All Year by: Caralyn Buehner. After we read the book, we created snowmen cookies with our book buddies! Look at how cute they turned out!
Let's Go Fishing!
In this fun activity, students were given various objects to create a magnetic fishing tool. The students were to use their knowledge about magnets to create a tool that they could use to 'go fishing.' After the students created their tools and 'caught their fish,' they wrote an informational piece of writing on 'How-to Create a Magnetic Tool.' The students then shared their writing to the class. Check out the creativity in this classroom!
